The Valentine’s History Report

There was a man called Valentine who was a priest in Rome. He was celebrated for how he brought people together. He helped couples get married. Emperor Claudius II of Rome thought unmarried men are better soldiers. He was killed on Feb 14 270 A.D. for not following the king’s rules. On that very day, Valentine wrote a love letter to the jailer’s daughter, for who he loved. Pope Gelasius, who was catholic, honored him by making a holiday in his name, St. Valentine’s Day.

Now everyone can celebrate St. Valentine’s Day!!!!!

Did you know in South Africa, girls pin the crush’s name on their sleeves?

Happy Valentines Day!
